Pak vs SL 2nd ODI Result - Sri Lanka won by 129 Runs - Series Level 1-1

Sri Lanka put a brilliant performance in the 2nd ODI with both ball and bat to win the match by 129 runs and hence level the 3 match series by 1-1 on Wednesday, 21st January, 2009 at Karachi.

Sri Lanka lost the toss and invited to bat and 290/8 in 50 overs thanks to half centuries by Dilshan and Kandamby scored 76 and 59 runs respectively. Akhtar and Tanvir bowled poorly and thrashed by Sri Lankan batsmen.

Pakistan started poorly and reduced to 17/3 but 108 runs partnership between Butt and Shoaib Malik brought back them in the game score 62 and 54 runs respectively but they lost last 7 wickets for 36 runs and all out on 161 runs in 34.5 overs. Murli and Mendis took 3 wickets each.

Match Summary:

Sri Lanka - 290/8 all out in 50 overs.

Pakistan - 161 all out in 34.5 overs.

Toss - Pakistan, who chose to field first.

Result - Sri Lanka won by 129 runs.

Man of The Match - Tilakratne Dilshan (Sri Lanka).

Series - 3-match series level 1-1.
