Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 1st Test Result - Younis Triple Century helps to Draw

One of the most memorable inning played by any Pakistani captain, Younis Khan's 313 runs in the first test against Sri Lanka not only helps Pakistan to take lead in th 1st inning but a hope to win th match also at one point as first match drawn on Wednesday, 25th February, 2009 at Karachi. 2nd and final test will start from 1st March, 2009.

Younis Khan started the day with the intention of breaking Brian Lara's 400 runs record of highest test run but out early on 313 runs off 568 balls with 27 fours and 4 sixes well supported by Kamran Akmal with 158 runs not out. Pakistan declared their 1st inning on 765/6 with 121 runs lead.

In the 2nd inning Sri Lanka lost 3 early wickets to give some hope of results due to some fine bowling by Pakistani bowlers.

Sri Lanka 1st Inning - 644/7 dec. in 155.2 overs.

Pakistan 1st Inning - 765/6 dec. in 248.5 overs.

Sri Lanka 2nd Inning - 144/5 in 31 overs.
