Fawad Alam's debut Century helps Pakistan back in 2nd test - lead by 28 runs against Sri Lanka

Pakistan made a great come back in the 2nd inning of 2nd test after bowled out on 90 runs, they restricted Sri Lanka to 240 runs then scored 178/1 and take a lead of 28 runs with 9 wickets in hand on Monday, 13th July, 2009 at Colombo.

Fawad Alam made a brilliant century on his debut match with unbeaten 102 runs, 10th Pakistani batsman to do it and become first Pakistani batsman to hit a test ton on debut away from home and put 85 runs for the 1st wicket with Khurram Manzoor and the 95 runs unbeaten partnership with captain Younis Khan.

Earlier they bowled out Sri Lanka on 240 and restrict the lead to 150 runs thanks to superb bowling by Saeed Ajmal and Umar Gul took 4 wickets each.

Pakistan 1st Inning - 90 all out in 36 overs (Mendis 3/20, Kulasekara 4/21)

Sri Lanka 1st Inning - 240 all out in 80 overs (Sangakkara 87, Gul 4/43, Ajmal 4/87)

Pakistan 2nd Inning - 178/1 in 56 overs (Fawad Alam 102*)

Toss - Pakistan, who chose to bat first.
